I wrote this one a couple of years ago. I know for myself that I always like to be unique and different than everyone else. Kids these days, especially teenagers, are put under tremendous peer pressure to do things they don't want to do, and I think it's important for them to know that it's okay to be yourself. So I decided to write a song about being true to yourself and always being in charge of what you want to do. -Alex

Out On A Limb

Chorus:
I like to walk out on a limb once in a while
And when I march to a diff'rent drum it makes me smile.
I'm one of a kind and there's no one just like me
So take me as I am, or let me be.

I like to do my own thing
I don't follow the crowd.
When I do something unique.
Well frankly I'm proud.
Don't want to play it safe.
I like to take a chance
I'm stepping forward
I won't take a backward glance.

CHORUS

The only person
I have to please is me.
I'm in charge
Of my own destiny.
You have it in you
Just loosen up those chains.
You've got so much to give
and so much to gain.

CHORUS

Why take the main road
You can take the one less traveled.
You can go upstream,
All you have to do is paddle.
To reach the top
You've got to climb.
Give it all you've got
You'll feel so sublime.

CHORUS

Bridge:
Don't let things get you down
Don't be daunted
You can be
Everything you've ever wanted
